Internal Communications Executive – London E14

My client who is a large FM organisation are recruiting for an Internal Communications Executive to be based at Canary Wharf.  This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £35,000 – £40,000 (dependent upon skills and experience) and benefits package.

General Overview:

  • The Internal Communications Executive (Projects) is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of internal communication activities for the UK Business Unit internal transformation programme and related projects to improve efficiency and develop a culture of collaboration in support of the UK strategy.
  • The Executive is also responsible for supporting the delivery of other internal communication activities and initiatives across the UK Business Unit to strengthen employee engagement and increase understanding of business activities.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

  • Develop, implement and continually update the communications plans for the UK Business Unit internal transformation programme
  • Support key strategic projects which are linked to the transformation programme, such as IT and procurement projects
  • Develop and draft internal communications materials to support the programme, such as a monthly newsletter, business updates, email communications, and briefing packs
  • Develop and manage internal communications tools for the programme (including SharePoint sites, webcast platforms, Yammer, internal videos)
  • Participate in a UK-wide Internal Communications Network to ensure effective collaboration and consistency of message across divisions and functions
  • Draft and manage the content and development of the UK Business Unit intranet
  • Support corporate internal events, (e.g. the twice-yearly Senior Management Conference, quarterly CEO webcasts and engagement events with the UK Executive Team)
  • Support corporate internal initiatives (e.g. Innovation Week, corporate responsibility and employee engagement activities, and group initiatives)
  • Report on the effectiveness of internal communications activity
  • Respond to ad hoc internal requests for communications support

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Minimum two years of experience in a communications related role.
  • Experience in management of internal communications tools, including digital tools such as SharePoint and other Office 365 functionality.


  • Experience within change communications.
  • Services and energy market knowledge would be beneficial.

Knowledge and skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of the key elements associated with effective internal communications.
  • Excellent written skills and experience in explaining complex information quickly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, and with a range of different stakeholders.
  • Creative skills with the ability to propose and implement initiatives, and logistical / planning skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and to required budget.
