BD Oversight Accountant

Our client are looking to hire a BD Oversight Accountant. This role will be based at Canary Wharf, London E14 5LQ. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

  • Act as a figurehead and single point of contact on Business Development governance by providing support and challenge to the production of high quality investment decision papers for presentation to the UK Commitment Committee (UKCC) and any relevant Group Commitment Committee.
  • Ensure that the UK Business Development Investment Decision procedures remain robust and appropriate
  • Ensure that approval criteria in UKCC approvals are achieved before final documents are signed;
  • Assist in performing “lookback” reviews on any projects nominated for such review by the UKCC.

Financial Planning and analysis

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and associated reporting.

UK Business Development and Investment Decision procedures

  •  Ensure the UK procedures are followed and continue to remain appropriate and in line with Group requirements and that any changes including new required templates are communicated in a timely manner within the UKBU.

Advanced Notice and Investment Notes for UKCC

  • Review in a timely fashion to ensure that these are in the required format to enable informed decisions to be made and that all relevant supporting documentation is provided to the members in advance of the meetings.

UKCC Minutes

  • Ensure that all UKCC meetings including conclusions and required actions for final approval are documented and communicated to UKCC members and bid team members.

Group BDO 

  • Liaise with Group BDO contacts so ensure that they are aware of any projects that require Group approval and ensure that they receive all required information.

Annual budget

  • Assist with the management of the budget process for the UK-BU.  Co-ordinate & review preparation of financial plans, budgets and forecasts to ensure that targets are properly documented, and goals are in accordance with the Group’s objectives and effective business review processes are in place.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong business knowledge including exposure to business development work.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills particularly written.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and ability to prioritise.


  • Previous exposure to business development activities.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel including ability to extract relevant information from financial models.
  • At least 3 years post qualified experience.
